CDL-A Heavy Haul Truck Driver — $70,000–$100,000/yr

Our company, a Jacksonville towing and transport company with over twenty years in business, needs a CDL-A Heavy Haul Transport Operator to move heavy equipment for customers in the area. You'll run state of the art tractor trailers capable of handling machinery on lowboys with up to 10 axles and step deck or sliding axle trailers with up to 7 axles.

Pay

• $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

What you'll haul

• Heavy equipment and machinery for a variety of customers

• Lowboy trailers (up to 10 axles) and step deck or sliding axle trailers (up to 7 axles)

What you'll do

• Drive the truck and trailer safely and courteously

• Follow dispatcher and customer instructions, written or verbal

• Get heavy loads to customers on schedule and matching their invoices

• Keep the tractor and trailer clean and road-ready, and know the mechanics of your equipment

• Run daily pre-trip checks, flag any issues to management or mechanics, and follow up on repair requests

• Pass along customer communications to the right people, complete Bills of Lading, and keep your logs compliant with E-Log rules

• Help keep the shop and yard tidy, deliver strong customer service, and take on other tasks your supervisor assigns

Work environment and physical demands

• Expect regular outdoor work in all weather, with occasional exposure to moving machinery, heights, chemicals, electrical hazards and vibration in a generally moderate-noise setting

• You'll need to lift or move up to 50 pounds often, and regularly stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Requirements

• CDL Class A preferred

• 3 years of heavy haul experience preferred

• Background in equipment or transportation work is expected given the customer base you'll serve
