Our company in Gurnee, IL is looking for a CDL-A heavy-duty tow truck driver for commercial towing, recovery, and roadside assistance work. This role pays on commission, so your earnings depend on how many jobs you take. If you want a steady hourly rate for slower, predictable work, this isn't the right fit.

What the work involves

• On-call hours including nights and weekends

• Steady, high volume of calls

• Quick response times expected

• Full recovery jobs, not just routine tows

• Working independently while staying in touch with dispatch

What you'll do

• Handle heavy-duty towing, recovery, and roadside service calls

• Get to breakdowns, accidents, and emergencies promptly

• Run wreckers and recovery gear safely

• Stay in contact with dispatch and customers throughout each job

• Finish every job with full documentation and photos

Pay

• Commission-based, with earning potential of $80K–$150K+

• Your pay scales with how many jobs you complete

• No earnings cap

• Call volume stays consistent

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license

• Clean driving record

• Able to pass a DOT drug screen

• Available for nights, weekends, and on-call shifts

• Willing to work outdoors in any weather

• Dependable and quick to respond when called

Helpful experience

• Background in heavy-duty towing or recovery

• Mechanical or diesel know-how

• Hands-on work with winching, load shifts, or accident recovery
