About this job

Our company is staffing for a heavy structural steel distribution center in Cowlitz County, looking for a full-time Class A flatbed driver to haul steel products on regional routes across the Pacific Northwest.

Pay

  • $30.00 - $32.00 / hour, with the rate set by your flatbed securement experience, steel hauling background, and driving record.

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, with weekends off.
  • Daytime dispatch, though exact start times shift depending on each day's delivery sites and customer unloading windows.

What you'll haul

  • You'll run a day cab pulling a flatbed or drop-deck trailer, delivering structural steel such as I-beams, wide flanges, tubing, pipe, plate, and large cylindrical sections to construction sites, fabrication shops, and industrial facilities in the region.
  • Dispatch runs out of a central hub, an easy commute from Cowlitz and Clark Counties, and routes keep you home consistently.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL and a current DOT medical card.
  • Documented experience hauling flatbed freight, with heavy loads strongly preferred, especially steel, beams, pipe, or industrial machinery.
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT securement rules - chaining, binders, strapping, blocking and chocking, so nothing shifts in transit.
  • A clean MVR that meets the company's insurance standards.
  • Ability to climb onto flatbed decks, pull chains and binders, throw straps, and lift up to 75 lbs outdoors in all weather.
  • A solid attendance record and a reputation for safe, professional work on jobsites.

Day to day, you'll also run full DOT pre-trip and post-trip checks on your tractor, trailer, tires, brakes, lights and securement gear, back safely into tight yards and active crane zones, work directly with site supervisors and riggers during unloading, and keep your ELD logs, bills of lading and delivery paperwork accurate and current, all while following FMCSA rules and state axle-weight limits.

Benefits

Once you convert to a permanent hire, you'll get medical, dental and vision coverage, a company retirement plan, paid time off, Washington State paid sick leave, and late-model trucks with quality securement equipment.

The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
