About this job
Our company, a small family-owned carrier based in Chicago, IL, is hiring experienced CDL-A drivers to haul Dry Van freight across the Midwest, with regional and OTR runs available. Drivers from other states are welcome to apply.
Pay
- Starting rate of $0.75 per mile
- Weekly earnings typically range from $2,000 to $3,000, depending on miles and freight available
What you'll haul
- Dry Van trailers, mostly within the Midwest region
- Mix of regional and over-the-road routes
Equipment
- Freightliner Cascadia trucks with automatic transmissions
- Equipment is kept in strong condition thanks to the company's own in-house repair shop, reducing downtime
What you'll do
- Drive a Class A tractor-trailer safely and deliver Dry Van loads on schedule
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Stay in regular contact with dispatch
- Handle paperwork and ELD logs correctly
- Follow DOT and FMCSA rules
- Keep your truck clean and well cared for
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Clean MVR
- Current DOT medical card
- Able to pass a DOT drug test
- Familiar with DOT and FMCSA rules
- Dependable, professional, and communicates well
- Comfortable working independently to meet delivery timelines
