About this job
Our company is a small Midwest-based carrier looking for an experienced Class A CDL driver who wants fair pay, clear communication, and a company that treats drivers as individuals rather than numbers. Freight runs mainly through the Midwest with nationwide runs when the rates make sense.
Pay
- Pick one pay structure when you're hired, and it stays fixed for your whole employment: either 30% of the truck's gross linehaul revenue, or $0.70 per mile on every dispatched mile (loaded plus authorized deadhead).
- Example weekly ranges under the percentage plan run from about $1,800 on a slower $6,000-gross week up to $3,600 on a strong $12,000-gross week.
- You'll also get half of any detention, layover, or added-stop charges the company actually collects from the broker or customer, once standard free time has passed.
Where you'll run
- Main lanes cover Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and nearby areas, based out of Hanover Park, Illinois.
- Occasional nationwide trips happen when the pay and conditions justify it.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with at least 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
- Clean enough driving and safety record to meet insurance standards.
- Able to pass required background and drug screening, and legally authorized to work in the US.
- Comfortable using an ELD and handling paperwork, proof of delivery, and prompt reporting of delays or issues.
What's expected of you
- Stay in contact about pickups, deliveries, delays, or breakdowns.
- Do thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, follow HOS rules, and keep the truck clean and well cared for.
- Act professionally with shippers, receivers, brokers, and dispatch.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
