About this job
Our company Company is looking for a CDL-A Delivery Driver in Rocky Mount, NC. You'll run ramp and dolly deliveries to customer locations on a Monday through Saturday schedule, with no Sunday work.
Pay
- Drivers average $78,000 a year for qualified candidates, depending on experience.
- Qualified candidates can get a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.
Schedule
- You'll work a set schedule, Monday through Saturday, with Sundays off.
What you'll haul
- You'll deliver product using ramp and dolly methods, unloading the trailer at customer sites.
What the job involves
- Check your tractor-trailer for problems before and after each trip and file a DOT inspection report on its condition.
- Verify the bill of lading and store keys for off-hour deliveries.
- Operate the tractor-trailer safely to your destination, following commercial driving rules and maneuvering on the road and at customer locations.
- Keep your driver log current (manual or Peoplenet) per DOT rules, noting delivery receipts, product temperatures and any exceptions.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 21 years old.
- Valid CDL-A.
- At least 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience, or 50,000 verifiable miles.
- Must meet our company's motor vehicle record and risk rating standards.
- Able to read, write and understand English well enough to follow work instructions, safety protocols and job-related communication.
- Background check and drug screening may apply, per applicable law.
