CDL-A Delivery Driver — $84,500–$93,000/yr

Cheney Brothers is looking for a CDL-A driver to deliver food and food service products to customers in the Fletcher, NC area. You'll run local, OTR, shuttle, overnight and drive-and-drop routes, and you'll be a key link in the company's food distribution operation.

Schedule

• Day shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays

• Dispatch window is between 3am and 5am

Pay

• $84,500 to $93,000 per year

What you'll do

• Inspect your tractor and trailer before and after each trip and follow all DOT safety rules

• Check that freight is loaded and secured properly, and verify item counts against invoices

• Drive your assigned route and deliver orders on schedule

• Unload product and carry it into customers' storage areas, checking for damage along the way

• Get delivery confirmations and signatures from customers, and collect payment (cash or check) when needed

• Load any customer returns and secure the trailer for the next leg

• Keep accurate, legible paperwork and log your hours of service as required

• Clean and organize your tractor and the loading dock area

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license

• At least 21 years old

• High school diploma or GED

• At least 12 months of commercial driving experience

• Clean driving record (MVR) for the past 3 years

• Current DOT Health Card, or able to obtain one

• Able to pass a road test, background check and post-offer drug screening

• Able to hand-lift product and use a two-wheeler or lift gate to move cases weighing roughly 10 to 35 pounds, and sometimes up to 60-90 pounds depending on location
