About this job
This is a full-time dedicated regional dry van job for CDL-A drivers based out of Chesapeake and Richmond, VA. New CDL graduates are welcome, and you reset at home every weekend. Routes involve early morning deliveries on a mix of day and night shifts.
Pay
- Mileage pay is $0.90 per mile, with about 1,000 miles a week.
- Average weekly earnings come to roughly $1,300, depending on routes, miles, unloading and bonuses.
- Extra pay: $20 per stop, $40 for loads under 51 miles, and $240 unload pay.
- A $100 weekly bonus applies if you are available five days and have no accidents, incidents or hours-of-service violations.
- Trainee pay may be different.
Home time and schedule
- Home every weekend for your weekly reset.
- Day and night driving with early morning delivery windows.
- Some Saturday deliveries and occasional holiday work.
What you'll haul
- Dedicated dry van freight on consistent routes.
- Floor-loaded and roller-assisted deliveries, plus live unloading.
- No extra endorsements needed.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL; fresh graduates and experienced drivers both considered.
- You must live within 70 miles of Chesapeake or Richmond, VA.
- Comfortable with physical unloading and with day, night, weekend and holiday availability.
- Must meet DOT and FMCSA rules.
Daily duties
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Follow DOT regulations and safety procedures.
- Keep accurate delivery records.
