About this job
Our company in Detroit, MI is looking for a CDL-A driver to haul shipping containers to and from rail yards on local and regional routes. You'll be home daily and work as a 1099 contractor with steady freight and no-touch loads.
Pay
- Paid weekly, with a guaranteed minimum of $800 per week
- Total weekly pay ranges from $800.00 to $1,600.00 depending on performance

What you'll haul
- Shipping containers, moving in and out of rail yards
- No-touch freight
Requirements
- CDL-A license
- At least 18 months of driving experience within the past 3 years
- Comfortable operating manual transmission tractor-trailers
- Clean driving record and solid knowledge of commercial driving rules
- Container hauling experience is a plus
What the job involves
- Running assigned routes and keeping deliveries on schedule
- Completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to catch safety or maintenance concerns
- Keeping accurate logs, delivery paperwork, and trip reports
- Staying in contact with dispatch and customers to keep deliveries on track and solve problems quickly
- Following all traffic laws, safety rules, and company procedures on every run
