About this job
Our company is looking for independent contractors to move units on over-the-road routes nationwide. You pick the loads that work for your schedule across divisions like Singles, New Deck, Used Deck, and Boom. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a company driver or owner-operator role, and despite the company name, all contracted drivers run solo rather than in teams.
Pay
- Earn $0.72 to $1.55 per mile plus a fuel surcharge on most divisions, with the rate depending on the load and division
- Same-day pay is available once your paperwork and logs are submitted and approved
- Extra earning opportunities include referral, clean inspection, mileage, load, and safety bonuses
Schedule and loads
- You choose which loads to run, but need to complete 3 to 5 loads per month to stay active
- Typical loads run 300 to 800 miles depending on customer needs
- Check in with your dispatcher at least once a week, even between loads
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B; Deck positions need a Double/Triple (T) endorsement
- At least 1 year of verifiable OTR commercial driving experience in the last 3 years (rideshare or delivery app driving doesn't count)
- Deck positions need at least 2 years of OTR experience plus 1 year of decking and un-decking experience in the last 3 years
- A relatively clean driving record and steady work history
- Able to supply DOT numbers from past employers and documentation of companies hauled for over the last 3 years
- Solid understanding of DOT hours-of-service rules, with daily electronic logs kept through the Motive app (paper logs aren't accepted)
- Your own tools and equipment for decking and un-decking
- Reliable, on-time paperwork and strong communication with dispatch
- On-time arrival for every pickup and delivery, with a professional attitude throughout
- Real-time load tracking using MacroPoint for Truckers
- Properly logged pre-trip and post-trip inspections and photo documentation on every load
- You cover your own fuel and should keep at least a quarter tank during transport
- Escrow, occupational/accidental insurance, and deductible buy-back insurance are required; details are shared during the application process
Benefits
As a 1099 contractor position, no company benefits are offered.
The hiring carrier's name is shared with you once you apply through the DriverRoll app, where you can message them directly.
