CDL-A Apprentice Truck Driver — $30.50/hr, Home Daily

Penske Logistics is hiring full-time apprentice CDL-A truck drivers in Lacey, WA to haul palletized grocery freight across Washington and Oregon. This role is built for recent grads of approved CDL schools or veterans with a Class A license, giving you paid on-the-job training while you work.

Pay

• $30.50 per hour

• Overtime kicks in after 40 hours

• Paychecks issued every Friday

Home time

• You're home every day

• 5-day work week, including weekends

• Two consecutive days off weekly

• Dispatch window runs 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM

• Average 55 hours per week

What you'll haul

• Palletized grocery freight moving throughout WA and OR

• Light-touch unloading at the trailer's end using an electric pallet jack, no hand-unloading required

• You'll drive newer Penske trucks with comfort- and safety-focused specs, including inward- and outward-facing cab cameras

Requirements

• Must have graduated from a Penske-approved CDL school (CDL 160, Ivy Tech, Truck Drivers Institute, or New England Tractor Trailer Training School), or be a current or former U.S. Armed Forces member

• Valid Class A CDL, with residence and licensing in the same U.S. state

• Must hold or be able to get a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card

• No more than two moving violations or accidents on your 3-year driving record

• English language proficiency required under DOT rule 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)

• Must pass a background check (employment, education, criminal history) and drug screening

• Able to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally, plus frequent standing, walking, and climbing in and out of the vehicle and cargo area
