What you'll do
- Shuttle trailers between loaded and empty yard areas and dock positions
- Handle 30 or more trailer moves on peak shifts, using a standard truck with no hydraulic lift
- Back and position trailers precisely in confined spaces
- Check trucks and trailers thoroughly to confirm they're safe to operate
- Refuel yard heaters and reefer units when needed
- Stick to yard safety rules and work alongside another driver to keep operations running smoothly
Requirements
- Valid AZ licence covering the equipment used
- Prior experience shunting or driving trucks
- Strong backing and maneuvering ability
- Comfortable doing detailed equipment inspections
- Understanding of road safety and inspection standards
- Capable of working solo or as part of a team in a busy yard
