About this job
Our company is hiring a part-time AZ driver to run local routes out of Ottawa, ON, working Tuesday through Thursday overnight shifts from 6:00pm to 4:00am.
What you'll do
- Drive company tractor-trailers on assigned local routes to pick up and deliver freight
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, checking tires, brakes, lights and load security
- Keep accurate e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork and incident reports
- Follow hours-of-service rules and company safety procedures
- Be available for overtime, weekends or overnight work when operations require it
- Manually load or unload freight (hand-bombing) when necessary
Requirements
- Valid AZ license, bondable and legally able to work in Canada
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract
- 1 to 5 years of verifiable Class 1/AZ driving experience
- Comfortable driving commercial vehicles in winter conditions
- Familiar with Ottawa and the surrounding area
- Able to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs when needed
- Strong communication and customer service skills
