About this job
Our company in Halton Hills, ON is hiring a full-time flatbed truck driver. You will move freight between locations safely and on schedule, and handle loading and unloading yourself.
Pay
- Starts at $30.15 an hour, full-time.
What you'll do
- Drive heavy-duty trucks carrying freight between sites.
- Inspect the truck before and after each trip.
- Load and unload using forklifts or other heavy equipment when needed.
- Record your driving hours, inspections and cargo details.
- Keep dispatch updated on routes, delays and problems.
- Make deliveries on time along your scheduled routes.
- Take care of basic repairs and upkeep on your vehicle.
Requirements
- A valid commercial driver's licence; a Class 1 licence is preferred.
- Around 3 years of flatbed experience is preferred.
- Comfortable operating forklifts and other heavy equipment.
- Solid understanding of transportation safety rules.
- Freight handling and logistics background is a plus, as is basic automotive repair knowledge.
