About this job
Our company in Whitby, Ontario needs an experienced AZ driver to haul construction materials and heavy equipment on a 53-foot flatbed. Pay starts at $25.00 per hour, with wages depending on experience.
What you'll haul
- Scaffolding, precast concrete, cement products, machinery and construction equipment
- Loads moved with heavy-spec trucks on 53-foot flatbed trailers
What you'll do
- Load, unload and tie down freight with chains, straps, binders and other securement gear
- Run forklifts, telehandlers and Moffett forklifts on site
- Inspect your truck, spot mechanical problems and handle minor repairs and preventative upkeep
- Keep paperwork and compliance records in order
Requirements
- A valid AZ licence and a clean driving record
- Hands-on experience with flatbed hauling and heavy equipment
- Working knowledge of transportation rules and job site safety
- Ability to lift heavy items and work on your own
- Experience with oversized loads or construction work is an asset
