AZ Cross-Border Truck Driver — $37.50/hr

Our company, based in Kemptville, ON, is looking for 3 permanent, full-time long haul drivers to run tractor-trailer and refrigerated equipment on cross-border lanes between Canada and the USA.

Pay

• $37.50 per hour

• Plus $10.00 commission per load

• Typical schedule runs 55 to 65 hours weekly, with overtime paid per employment standards

What you'll haul

• Tractor-trailers, including refrigerated units, moving freight across Canada and the USA

• Work may be solo, as a two-person team, or in convoy

What the job involves

• Planning efficient routes with GPS to cut fuel use and emissions

• Pre-trip, en route and post-trip vehicle inspections, including tires, brakes, lights and cold storage units

• Basic preventive maintenance and securing/tarping cargo

• Logging hours of service, mileage, fuel use and cargo details

• Handling permits and paperwork needed for cross-border runs

• Staying in contact with dispatch and dealing directly with customers

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience

• 1 to 2 years of driving experience

• Valid AZ (Class 1/A) license with air brake (Z) endorsement

• Comfortable driving manual transmission trucks

• Background with tractor-trailer and refrigerated equipment

• Prior long-haul and international driving experience

• Familiar with logbooks, bills of lading and trip reports

• Valid passport and willing to travel overnight and cross-border for extended stretches

• Must pass a license check, criminal record check, drug test and medical exam

• Bring your own steel-toed boots, vest, gloves and hard hat
