This role is for an experienced AZ driver based near Guelph, Ontario, running long-haul cross-border freight between Canada and the US, with a strong focus on winter driving through Northern Ontario.
Pay
- $0.67 per mile on all miles
- Extra pay for customer wait times beyond two hours, extra stops, drop-and-hook work, and qualifying layovers
Home time
- Trips typically run about 5 to 7 days before returning to the Guelph area terminal
What you'll haul
- Automatic transmission tractor-trailers
- Regular runs through Northern Ontario, Manitoba, and the US Midwest, with occasional trips further south into the US
Requirements
- Valid Ontario AZ licence and at least 3 years of driving experience
- Clean, current abstract and CVOR
- Proven experience with cross-border tractor-trailer runs
- Solid knowledge of Canadian and US trucking rules
- Comfortable driving Highways 11 and 17 in winter conditions
- Valid passport and ability to enter the US
- Clean driving record and safety history
- Able to supply references and a 3-year safety performance history
- Criminal record check or FAST card
