About this job
Our company is hiring experienced Class 1 highway drivers to run Dry Van freight across the Canada-US border. The position is based out of the Halifax, NS terminal, though you can live anywhere in the Atlantic provinces, and drivers typically spend 7 to 10 days on the road per trip.
What you'll haul
- Dry Van freight moving between Canada and the United States
- Year-round, steady freight volume
Home time
- Expect to be out in the truck for 7 to 10 consecutive days at a time
What you'll do
- Run cross-border freight while following all safety and compliance rules
- Handle dispatched loads promptly and professionally
- Keep accurate logs and paperwork in order
Requirements
- Valid AZ or Class 1 licence
- At least 2 years of verified driving experience in Canada and the US
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract
- Clean criminal record check, required for crossing the border
- Willingness to travel into the US on a regular basis
- FAST Card is a plus
