About this job
Our company runs last-mile delivery for FedEx and needs an Assistant Terminal Manager in Bowling Green, OH 43402. The role splits time between driving delivery routes and helping run the terminal day to day alongside the Terminal Manager.
Pay
- Starts at $190 per day, plus a bonus (specific amount not listed)
What you'll do
- Jump on a route yourself to handle busy days, no-shows, time off, or extra volume
- Assign drivers to routes, check that trucks are ready to go, and pitch in loading freight
- Spend 2-3 evenings a week reviewing and finalizing the next day's routes and driver lineup in DRO
- Step in to settle issues that come up with drivers, customers, or FedEx, including performance concerns
- Support the upkeep of trucks and terminal gear, like scanners and iPads
- Keep an eye on driver compliance across Homebase, GroundCloud, safety training, inspections, and VEDR alerts
- Partner with the Terminal Manager to keep the terminal running safely and smoothly
Requirements
- Someone who takes ownership and can handle a busy, fast-moving operation
- Solid communication and leadership ability
- Comfortable switching gears quickly as priorities change
