5 Ton Truck Driver / Freight Dock Worker — $25.00–$30.00/hr

Our company is launching a new depot in Lloydminster, AB and needs a hands-on driver who's equally comfortable behind the wheel and working the dock. You'll handle local and regional freight runs in a 5 ton truck plus loading, unloading and sorting shipments at the depot.

Pay

• $25.00-$30.00 per hour

• Expected hours: 44.0-60.0 per week

What you'll haul

• Pick up and deliver freight to customers and other locations, both locally and regionally, using a 5 ton truck

What you'll do

• Unload incoming trailers each morning and load outgoing freight in the correct delivery sequence

• Load and unload shipments at the dock and at customer sites, using a forklift or other equipment as needed

• Check freight for damage and confirm shipment details before loading and after delivery

• Secure loads properly so nothing shifts or gets damaged in transit

• Fill out delivery paperwork and freight records

• Carry out daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on your vehicle

• Stay in touch with dispatch, customers and warehouse staff to keep pickups and deliveries on schedule

• Keep your truck and the dock area clean and organized

• Help with basic vehicle troubleshooting and upkeep when needed

• Follow all safety procedures for the workplace and for transportation

Requirements

• Experience picking up and delivering freight is strongly preferred

• Experience driving a 5 ton truck or similar commercial vehicle

• A valid licence matching the vehicle you'll operate (a Class 1 licence is a plus but not mandatory)

• Dock or warehouse background, and forklift experience or certification, are assets

• Solid grasp of freight handling and load securement

• Careful, detail-oriented approach to handling freight and paperwork

• Safe driving record and strong focus on workplace safety

• Dependable, on time, and able to work well with a team

• Physically able to load, unload and move freight
