About this job
Our company has been family-run out of Kentville, NS since 1945, and they're looking for Class 1 drivers for long-haul, cross-border runs carrying refrigerated and dry van loads between Canada and the US.
Pay
- Expect to earn between $60,000 and $86,000 a year (open to negotiation), based on a 40 to 50 hour week
- With a year of experience under your belt, you'll be paid $0.48 per mile
- Most weeks run around 2,500 miles
- You're paid weekly, with overtime and extra compensation for each pick-up or drop

What you'll haul
- Long-haul, cross-border freight in refrigerated and dry van trailers
- Runs can be solo, team-driven with a partner, or part of a convoy
Requirements
- A Class 1 (or Class A) license
- Air Brake (Z) endorsement on your license
- 1 to 2 years behind the wheel (if you're new or working toward your Class 1, training is offered)
- A valid passport and willingness to cross the border and spend nights away from home
- Must pass a criminal background check, driving record review, and drug screening
- High school diploma required
- WHMIS certification and a defensive driving course on your record
