Temporary CDL-A Driver — $28.27/hr + $6.16/hr Health & Welfare Pay

Our company, Inc. has hauled mail for the United States Postal Service for over 40 years. This family-owned company is hiring a temporary CDL-A driver to run tractor trailer routes out of Wichita, KS.

Pay

• $28.27 per hour, plus a $6.16 per hour Health & Welfare payment in place of company benefits

• Capped at 40 hours per week

Schedule

This is a short-term role expected to start the week of November 2, 2026 and end December 31, 2026. It's meant to cover a temporary business need and isn't expected to turn into a permanent job. You'll need to be available any day of the week, including weekends, and across morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.

What you'll do

• Drive a tractor trailer hauling mail around Wichita, KS and nearby areas

• Load and unload freight safely

• Follow your assigned routes and keep delivery records accurate

• Stay in contact with customers, supervisors, and management

• Follow traffic laws, safety rules, and company procedures

• Do pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any problems right away

Requirements

• Valid Class A license

• At least 21 years old

• 2+ years of verifiable tractor trailer driving experience

• Current DOT medical card

• Clean driving history: no suspensions in the last 5 years, no more than one violation or accident since getting licensed

• No criminal record in the past 10 years, and not currently on parole or probation

• Able to read, write, and speak English proficiently

• Must pass a drug test within 24 hours of receiving an offer

It also helps (but isn't required) if you've driven for carriers like FedEx, Amazon, or DHL, have route driving experience, know FMCSA rules and Hours of Service regulations, and have a steady work history (no more than 2 employers in any 12-month stretch).
