OTR Truck Driver — $27–$35/hr Hauling Heavy Equipment

Our company in Compton, CA is looking for a dependable truck driver to haul heavy equipment on over-the-road runs. You'll handle tractor-trailer loads, plan your own routes, and keep deliveries on schedule while following all safety rules.

Pay

• $27.00 to $35.00 per hour

• Expected hours: 40 to 60 per week

What you'll haul

• Heavy equipment moved over long-distance routes

• You'll load and unload the cargo yourself and make sure it's secured for the trip

What you'll do

• Drive tractor-trailers on OTR runs in line with FMCSA and DOT rules

• Use GPS to plan efficient routes and keep an eye on traffic

• Keep accurate records of your hours, deliveries and vehicle checks

• Inspect your truck before and after each trip and flag any mechanical problems right away

• Stay in touch with dispatch and customers on delivery timing and any issues that come up

Requirements

• Solid background driving commercial trucks, including delivery and route work

• Comfortable with manual transmissions and loading/unloading procedures

• Good knowledge of DOT and FMCSA rules, hazmat regulations and general safety practices

• Able to navigate using GPS and adjust for real-time traffic

• Physically able to manage heavy equipment during load and unload tasks
