About this job
This South Carolina-based carrier is looking for a team driver to run long-haul freight across the US, leased on to Road Runner Transportation. Loads are terminal-to-terminal, drop and hook, so you won't be handling freight yourself.
Pay
- Starts at $0.58 per mile for your first 90 days, then rises to $0.60 per mile
- Typical weekly pay runs $1,200-$1,600, with annual gross usually landing between $75,000 and $90,000
- During the Christmas/New Year break you'll be paid a flat $1,200 per week
- Drivers average 5,500-6,200 miles weekly
Home time
- Plan on getting home roughly every other week for about 36 hours
- You'll also get two additional paid weeks off during the year
- Expect 10-15 days off around the Christmas/New Year holidays
What you'll haul
- Freight moves terminal to terminal under a lease with Road Runner Transportation, using a drop-and-hook setup with no freight handling required
Requirements
- Valid CDL with at least 6 months of verifiable driving experience
- Clean record: no accidents, DUIs, tickets, or major safety violations
- Must pass a DOT drug screen and breathalyzer test
- Comfortable working as part of a two-person driving team, with good communication skills
- Commitment to safety and compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations
Benefits
- Medical, dental, vision, and life coverage starts after the 90-day probationary period, with the company contributing the first $600 toward your health plan
- 401(k) and paid time off also included
