About this job
Our company is looking for OTR CDL-A drivers to haul 100% no-touch, full truckload dry van freight. You'll run solo as a company driver, spending 21 days on the road followed by 7 days home.
Pay
- Earn $85,000 to $95,000 per year, paid at 65 to 74 CPM depending on your experience and endorsements
- First paycheck includes a transition bonus, orientation pay, and PTO, totaling $2,450 to $3,775
- An extra $650 transition bonus kicks in after your first 30 days
- Short-load pay: $35 per load for runs of 0-100 miles, $25 per load for runs of 101-400 miles
- Pay increases periodically as you log 15,000 to 30,000 safe miles, up to a set ceiling
- Safety bonuses: $925 or $750 every 90 days for CSA performance, plus $650 every 90 days for on-road safety
- Higher mileage rate when hauling placarded HAZMAT (this is under 2% of all freight)
- Detention pay starts after just 1 hour, and other accessorial pay (like stop-off pay) applies when relevant
- Accelerated PTO builds up every 60,000 paid miles, from 3 to 9 days depending on your mileage history
Home time
You run OTR for 21 days, then get 7 days at home. When it's time to head back, you leave your truck at a Barr-Nunn terminal, and the company flies you home and back - or, if you're based east of I-35 and prefer driving, they'll cover your fuel costs to and from the Columbus terminal instead.
What you'll haul
All freight is no-touch, full truckload dry van. Trucks are late-model Freightliner Cascadias paired with newer 53' Wabash trailers fitted with tracking and cargo sensors. Each truck comes with a TV, microwave, fridge, power inverter, free Sirius XM, bedding, sheets, pillow, and CB radio. No runs into NYC or Canada.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A
- At least 8 months of OTR experience within the last 24 months, including driving in snow and ice in major cities
- No job terminations in the last 12 months
- No DWIs in the past 5 years
- No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
- No preventable DOT-reportable accidents in the last 3 years
- Must pass a pre-employment DOT physical, drug screening, and human performance evaluation
Benefits
- 401(k) with company match
- BCBS health insurance and dental coverage
- Free $10,000 life insurance policy
- Referral program worth $6,600 to $7,900 plus 4 days of PTO
- Free rider program so you can bring someone along
- Prepass Plus for weigh station bypass and toll transponders
- Handle paperwork, loads, and payroll through the Drive Axle app, Transflo, or other mobile tools
