About this job

Assignment
- Contracted as a 1099 independent contractor, not an employee, for a set temporary assignment.
- Most assignments last 2 to 4 weeks, depending on freight volume and agreement between you and BCX National.
- You leave your home base and relocate to the assignment city; you must be able to stay away for the full length.
- our company books and pays for your hotel.
Pay
- $175 to $200 per day, depending on experience.
- Per diem is included while you travel or work an assignment.
- No taxes are withheld because you are paid as a contractor.
What you'll do
- Drive the box truck between the hotel, the warehouse or cross-dock, and customer stops.
- Plan an efficient daily route together with dispatch.
- Complete vehicle inspections before and after each trip (DVIR).
- Lead the white-glove work at every stop: place items in the room the customer chooses, remove debris, and set up as the client requires.
- Install appliances or furniture to client specifications.
- Check freight for damage at pickup and drop-off, and report problems right away.
- Get signatures and photos as proof of delivery and finish all paperwork the same day.
- Stay courteous and professional with customers, follow each client's site rules exactly, and keep dispatch updated on delays, damage, access problems or job changes.
- Make sure any assigned helper follows client rules and handles freight safely.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of box truck driving experience you can verify.
- Clean motor vehicle record.
- Previous white-glove delivery experience and strong customer service skills.
- Passing a background check and drug screen before the assignment starts.
- A reliable iOS or Android smartphone with an up-to-date OS and data plan, and comfort running several apps at once (dispatch, navigation, proof of delivery, messaging).
- A valid government photo ID.
- Experience with appliance installation or furniture assembly is a plus.
Physical demands
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs on your own; heavier pieces are moved with a partner.
- Climb stairs often, work through tight doorways and hallways, and move large items through homes and businesses.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel and lift through a full shift, in any weather.
