About this job
Our company needs a reliable non-CDL driver for regional runs across North Carolina, South Carolina and Atlanta. You'll run a 24'-26' straight/box truck on steady freight with a schedule that gets you home most days.
Pay
- $1,100.00 - $1,600.00 per week, paid weekly by direct deposit
Home time
- Regional routes mainly in North Carolina and South Carolina
- Home most days and nights, with few if any overnight stays
- Typically Monday through Friday, with an occasional weekend shift if needed
What you'll haul
- Freight moved in a 24'-26' non-CDL straight/box truck, often with a manual transmission
- You'll load and unload cargo by hand, and experience with forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus
- Loads must be secured properly, and you'll follow FMCSA, DOT and hazmat rules along with highway safety laws
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
- Current DOT medical card, or able to get one before starting
- At least 21 years old, since routes cross state lines
- At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience, ideally in a 26' box truck, straight truck or large commercial cargo van
- Able to pass a standard background check and drug test
- Comfortable using a smartphone and ELD for navigation, dispatch check-ins and proof of delivery
- Able to do pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keep the truck clean, flagging any maintenance issues
