Non-CDL Box Truck Driver — $25.00/hour, Multi-State Routes

Our company needs an independent contractor to run box truck freight out of Los Angeles, CA across California and into nearby states. You'll handle the driving plus hands-on freight work, keeping shipments safe and on schedule.

What you'll haul

• Multi-state, over-the-road routes in and beyond California

• You load, unload and strap down freight to keep it from shifting or getting damaged

• You pitch in with shippers or warehouse crews on freight handling when needed

Pay

• $25.00 per hour, paid as a 1099 independent contractor

• Schedule flexibility depending on the routes you run, with steady ongoing work as the company adds more routes

• This is contract work, not employment, so you cover your own taxes, insurance and any licenses you need

Requirements

• Valid regular driver's license (Non-CDL)

• Clean driving history, with no major violations, plus a clean background check and passed drug test

• Able to lift and handle items in the 50-75+ lb range, including bending, squatting, crouching and reaching as the job requires, indoors or outdoors

• Comfortable running long distances solo, with solid time management and dependable attendance

• Basic comfort using GPS and navigation tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior box truck or similar vehicle driving experience

• Background in interstate or long-haul driving

• Familiarity with delivery paperwork or logistics software

• Some basic vehicle mechanical know-how

On the job

You'll run pre-trip and post-trip inspections, stick to traffic and safety rules and company procedures, keep accurate logs and delivery paperwork, and stay in contact with dispatch on routing, delays or problems that come up. Other related tasks may come up beyond what's listed here.
