Long Haul Truck Driver

Our company in Steinbach, MB is looking for a reliable long haul driver to move freight over regional and national routes. You'll be responsible for safe driving, proper freight handling, and keeping your truck road-ready.

What you'll do

• Drive large commercial trucks on long-distance runs, following traffic laws and safety rules

• Deliver goods to regional or national destinations on schedule

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip checks, covering brakes, tires, lights and fluid levels

• Load and unload cargo, using a forklift or other equipment when needed, and secure it properly

• Keep accurate logs, mileage records and delivery paperwork

• Handle minor mechanical troubleshooting or repairs on the road when required

• Stay in touch with dispatch, clients and coworkers about schedules or issues during the trip

• Follow safety procedures for equipment use and freight handling

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean record

• Commercial driving, heavy equipment or freight transport experience preferred

• Comfortable and safe operating a forklift or similar machinery

• Basic know-how for troubleshooting vehicle problems on the road

• Detail-oriented with solid recordkeeping and safety habits

• Able to work independently for long stretches on the road

• Physically able to load and unload freight and carry out inspections

• Freight handling experience is a plus but not required; training provided

This is a full-time, in-person position.
