About this job
Miller Waste Systems is hiring a permanent full-time DZ Swing Driver at 1815 Bantree Street in Ottawa, Ontario, reporting to the Route Supervisor. You will drive a mix of waste collection trucks and fill in on routes when regular drivers are off. The job starts immediately.
Pay
- $33.01 per hour.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday with a 6:30 am start.
- Start and end times can change, since you cover for vacations, absences and extra route needs.
- You need to be available for the occasional Saturday and statutory holiday.
What you'll do
- Drive front-load, roll-off, and curbside/multi-residential rear-load or top-load trucks.
- Serve customers on the schedules their contracts require.
- Push and pull containers of different sizes and weights in and out of enclosures and rooms.
- Follow company safety protocols, provincial health and safety rules, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Meet productivity targets while giving good customer service.
Requirements
- Valid DZ licence with a clean driver's abstract and CVOR.
- Good knowledge of Ottawa roads and neighbourhoods.
- Able to work on your own with little supervision.
- Clear written and spoken communication, strong organization, and a solid attendance and performance record.
- A reputation for getting along with coworkers and management.
