Local CDL Hazmat Truck Driver — $28.50–$30.50/hr, Home Nightly

Our company, part of POOLCORP, needs a CDL hazmat driver for local runs out of Santa Clara, CA. Every route stays close to home, so you'll sleep in your own bed nightly, and your hours are protected even during slower delivery stretches.

Pay

• $28.50-$30.50 per hour

• Annual bonus potential up to $3,500

• A floor of 40 hours weekly, guaranteed

Home time

• Nightly return home with all deliveries kept local

What you'll haul

• Hazardous freight that must be loaded, separated and handled according to proper safety protocol

Requirements

• Minimum age 21

• Active CDL carrying a HAZMAT endorsement

• No more than 2 violations or at-fault crashes combined on your MVR/PSP over the last 3 years

• Capable of lifting items up to 100 pounds

• Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with customers

• Must pass a background screening and drug test before starting

• A bonus if you've worked with Moffett or Skelly equipment, or have air brake experience

Responsibilities

• Run the most direct routes to get orders there on schedule

• Handle loading and unloading, making sure hazardous goods are secured and kept apart from other freight

• Take payment on delivery and keep accurate records of each stop

• Carry out inspections before and after each trip, flagging any maintenance issues

• Maintain a clean, professional-looking vehicle
