About this job
Our company in Saint Gabriel, LA is looking for a local CDL-A tanker driver to haul hazardous and non-hazardous liquids. You'll run local routes, handling freight safely while keeping up with DOT and hazmat rules.
What you'll haul
- Hazardous and non-hazardous liquid freight in tanker trailers
- Some loads may be temperature-sensitive, requiring extra care in handling
What you'll do
- Drive tractor-trailer tanker combinations on local routes, staying compliant with DOT, FMCSA and hazmat rules
- Load, secure, haul and unload cargo while protecting its integrity
- Use GPS to plan efficient routes and hit delivery windows
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checks on loading and unloading equipment
- Keep accurate logs of hours, deliveries and cargo paperwork
- Stay in contact with dispatch about routing, delivery updates or safety issues
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
- TWIC card
- Ability to drive a 10-speed manual transmission
- Solid driving record and working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA and hazmat handling rules
- Available to take on all local work assigned during the week
