About this job
Our company, a food and beverage distributor operating since 1906, is hiring a local CDL-A driver in Alamosa, CO. You will run assigned delivery routes, drop product at customer locations and keep the paperwork and vehicle in good order.
What you'll do
- Deliver along your assigned route and make each customer's delivery window
- Check your vehicle before driving (tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, water) and request service when something is off
- Put products where each customer wants them and avoid damage from handling
- Go over invoices to know what to move and deliver
- Hand in receipts and any money collected
- Keep vehicle logs and cargo or billing records
- Phone your Transportation Supervisor right away about problems, and report breakdowns, delays or accidents to base
- Stay compliant with DOT rules, food safety rules and company policies
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL issued in your state of residence, plus DOT certification
- At least 1 year of route driving experience
- Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic math, good communication and some Microsoft Office skills
Safety
- Trucks carry AI-assisted dash cameras that spot safe driving and record safety events; the footage can also clear you in an accident
- You sign a consent form for the cameras when hired
