Local CDL-A Flatbed Driver — $24–$32/hr

AST, a manufacturer of forged and machined parts for aerospace, defense and automotive customers, needs a dependable Class A driver for local flatbed runs around the greater Los Angeles area. You'll handle a 53' flatbed, keep deliveries on schedule, and make sure every load is secured properly.

Pay

• $24.00 to $32.00 per hour, based on experience

Schedule

• Full-time, in person, Monday through Friday

• Day shift or 2nd shift available

• Around 40 hours a week, with some overtime

What you'll haul

• Pallets, boxes, crates and large parts on a 53' flatbed trailer, delivered throughout Southern California

What the job involves

• Strapping, chaining and tying down freight so it travels safely

• Doing pre-trip and post-trip checks on the truck and trailer

• Keeping delivery logs, shipping paperwork and driver records up to date

• Staying in touch with dispatch about progress, delays or problems

• Treating customers professionally at every delivery stop

• Pitching in with yard or warehouse tasks when you're not on the road

• Following all DOT, state and company safety rules

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement

• At least 2 years of commercial driving experience; flatbed experience preferred

• Comfortable securing and strapping bulky loads like pallets, boxes and crates

• Clean driving record, and able to pass a DOT physical and drug test

• Good working knowledge of local roads, freeways and safe driving practices

• Strong communication, time management and customer service skills

• Able to lift and secure loads up to 50 lbs

• High school diploma or equivalent
