About this job
Our company has four separate CDL-A openings in the City of Industry, Cerritos, Walnut and Vernon, CA areas, plus a yard hostler position. Pick the schedule and route that fits you best and let the company know which one interests you when you apply.
Pay
- Cerritos local container route: $28.00/hour, with overtime after 8 hours and double time after 12 hours
- Walnut dedicated route: $27.00/hour
- City of Industry dedicated route: $26.00/hour plus overtime
- Vernon yard driver role: $27.00/hour
- Overall wage range across openings: $26.00-$28.00 per hour, paid weekly
Schedule and home time
- Cerritos: Monday-Friday, starting between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM
- Walnut: Monday-Friday, starting around 5:00 PM-6:00 PM, with overtime sometimes required
- City of Industry: Monday-Friday, starting between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM
- Vernon yard position: 10:00 AM-6:30 PM
- All positions are dedicated runs with weekends off
What you'll haul
- Cerritos: local container deliveries using a 53' dry van with a lift-gate, unloaded by pallet jack
- Walnut: paper products delivered to distributors and stores on a 53' dry van, with multiple stops and occasional trips to San Diego and back, unloaded with an electric pallet jack
- City of Industry: local container pickups and deliveries, following GPS directions and a required tracking app; you'll photograph the container and trailer numbers, the proof of delivery, the empty trailer, and the loaded cargo before closing the doors
- Vernon: moving trailers between the plant and the nearby yard
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- 12 to 24 months of recent tractor-trailer experience, depending on which position you choose
- Clean driving record
- Comfortable with manual transmission equipment
- Mostly drop-and-hook work with minimal touch freight
- Dependable attendance
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
