About this job
Drive a dedicated local account out of Shafter, CA, hauling freight for Walmart throughout Southern California. You'll be home every day, with two consecutive days off most weeks, and you won't touch the freight.
Pay
- Average $1,350 per week, with top earners making $1,650
- Paid by mileage band, plus stop pay and detention pay
- Safe & On-Time Bonus included
- Loads typically run 2-3 stops each
What you'll haul
- Dedicated, no-touch local freight on a Walmart account
- Routes run from Shafter across Southern California, including backhauls returning to the distribution center
- Slip-seat operation with automatic transmission trucks, dry van and reefer trailers on newer, well-kept equipment
Schedule
- Home daily, with 2 consecutive days off per week typically
- Weekend work is required, so your days off may land anywhere Monday through Friday
- Most loads head out between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least 3 months of verifiable Class A driving experience
- Comfortable handling multi-stop local routes
- Available to work weekends
- Dependable way to get to the reporting location
- Clean driving record and current DOT medical card
- SAP drivers will not be considered
