Local CDL-A Driver — Home Daily, $33.50/hr + OT

Ruan needs a local Class A CDL driver to run a dedicated Whole Foods grocery account out of Richmond, CA. You'll be home every day, making multi-stop delivery runs and unloading with an electric pallet jack. This is a union position, so schedules go by seniority.

Pay

• Average annual earnings of $80,000-$90,000

• Base rate of $33.50 per hour

• Overtime kicks in after 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week

• Workweek guaranteed at 40 hours minimum

• Paychecks issued weekly

Home time and schedule

• Home every day

• 5 days on the road each week, with weekend work included

• Shifts typically run 8-12 hours

• The open slot right now is for an afternoon/evening shift

• Because this is a union shop, shift assignments can shift around at rebid time depending on your seniority

What you'll haul

• You'll be behind the wheel of a newer day cab pulling reefer trailers

• Deliveries involve several stops per run for Whole Foods grocery products

• Unloading is done with an electric pallet jack

• Routes through Reno and Tahoe need snow chains in winter conditions, and mountain routes generally may call for chaining too

• If you're assigned Reno/Tahoe routes, you'll need chaining experience since those routes run all year

Requirements

• Minimum age 22

• Valid Class A CDL

• At least 9 months of tractor-trailer experience that can be verified, within the last 3 years

• No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years

• No more than 1 preventable, DOT-recordable accident in the last 3 years

• Must satisfy all DOT and FMCSA standards

• You'll need to set up a profile in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse before you start

• English proficiency sufficient to read road signs, follow safety directions, handle official communications, talk with the public, and fill out paperwork accurately

• Other requirements may come into play depending on the role
