About this job
Our company is looking for a Class A CDL driver to run local solo routes out of Sacramento, CA, delivering freight throughout Northern CA and returning home every day.
Pay
- $30.00 per hour, paid weekly
- Drivers on this account typically bring home $1,425 or more per week
- Paid training included
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, starting at 5:00 AM
- 40 to 50 hours per week
- Home daily on a local route
What you'll haul
- Solo deliveries to Northern CA
- Day cab tractor pulling a 28' pup trailer or 26' straight truck
- Heavy touch freight: glass doors and mirrors
- You'll use a hand truck, J-bar, door hand truck and liftgate; our company trains you on all the equipment
- Trucks are 36 months old or newer, backed by 24/7 roadside support and a network of over 800 maintenance locations nationwide
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Class A CDL with any required endorsements
- Verifiable tractor-trailer experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, OR 2 years in the last 5 years, OR 5 years in the last 10 years
- Must pass a DOT physical, road test, background check, and drug and alcohol screening (including verification from past employers covering the last 3 years)
- Able to understand and follow written and spoken instructions, and apply relevant laws and procedures
- Some assignments may involve extra screening, such as employment/education checks or customer badging requirements
Responsibilities
- Follow applicable safety laws, regulations and company standards
- Spot and reduce safety risks on the job
- Keep accurate logs and records
- Help load or unload freight when the customer requires it
