About this job
Our company is looking for a Class A CDL driver to run local routes out of Sarasota, FL, with daily home time and weekly pay.
Pay
- $26.77 per hour, plus a $5.36 per hour health and welfare stipend
- Weekly paychecks average $1070 to $1284 or more
- Average 35 to 40 hours per week
Schedule
- 7 day operation with 1 day off during the week
- Dispatch starts between 3:00 AM and 10:00 AM
- Solo driving, home every day
What you'll haul
- Routes stay within 150 air miles of Sarasota, FL
- Day cab tractor pulling 48' and 53' dry van trailers
- Touch freight, hauling US Mail
- Trucks are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside support and fueling at over 800 locations nationwide
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Class A CDL with required endorsements
- Tractor trailer experience: 9 months in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the last 5 years, or 5 years in the last 10 years
- Must pass a drug test, background and motor vehicle check (including prior employer drug and alcohol history for the last 3 years), DOT physical, and road test
- Able to follow instructions and apply relevant laws, rules and procedures
- Because this account serves the USPS, you'll also need to pass a secondary Federal Level 2 background screen and register with Selective Service if you're a male born after December 31, 1959, unless exempt
- Some assignments may require added background, education or badging checks
What you'll do
- Follow federal and state transportation rules and company safety standards
- Spot and address safety hazards
- Keep accurate logs and paperwork
- Help load or unload freight when the customer requires it
