About this job
Our company in Savannah, GA needs a Class A CDL driver for local and regional drayage work. You run loads within about 300 miles, work as a company driver, and are home every day.
Pay and bonuses
- Hourly, non-exempt position; no rate is listed in the posting
- Sign-on, referral and safety bonuses are offered, with no amounts given
Schedule and home time
- Day shift, Monday through Friday, with weekend work when needed
- Home daily
What you'll do
- Check the truck, chassis and trailer before and after each trip
- Haul freight to destinations within a 300-mile radius and secure cargo so it can't shift or get damaged
- Follow your daily plan from electronic dispatch and stay in touch with dispatchers, customers and warehouse staff
- Keep accurate records of hours, routes, mileage, fuel and deliveries
- Report vehicle problems or delays right away and follow DOT rules and company safety standards
Requirements
- Class A CDL and a TWIC card
- No more than 6 points on your record in the last 3 years and no DUI/DWI in the last 5 years
- Clean background check, driving test and drug-free workplace
- 2 years of ocean container drayage experience is preferred, not required
