Local CDL-A Delivery Driver — Starting at $30.61/hr, Home Nightly

Our company in Clinton, IA is looking for a local CDL-A driver to deliver food products to area customers Monday through Friday, with early morning starts and a return home every night.

Pay

• Starting base pay of $30.61 per hour

• $4,000 sign-on bonus (not available to anyone who has worked for a Performance Food Group company in the past 6 months)

• Early morning starts, Monday through Friday

• Home every night

What you'll haul

• Food and food-related products delivered to local customers such as restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools and quick-service spots

• Routes may include local, intrastate, interstate, shuttle, overnight and drive-and-drop runs using a tractor trailer or straight truck

What the job involves

• Pre- and post-trip inspections of your tractor and trailer per DOT rules, reporting any safety or repair issues

• Checking loaded freight for accuracy and proper securing, then completing all delivery paperwork clearly and correctly

• Driving your assigned route, unloading orders, and carrying items into customer storage areas

• Checking for damaged goods, confirming deliveries with customers, and collecting signatures (and payment, when required)

• Loading customer returns and damaged items back onto the trailer and securing everything for transport

• Logging hours of service according to federal, state and company rules, and keeping your truck and dock area clean

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

• Valid CDL-A license

• At least 6 to 12 months of commercial driving experience

• Minimum age 21

• Clean 3-year motor vehicle record

• Able to pass a post-offer drug test, background check and road test

• Current DOT health card, or able to obtain one

• Able to hand-lift and use a two-wheeler, lift gate or similar equipment to move cases typically weighing 10-35 pounds, and up to 60-90 pounds depending on location
