Local CDL-A City Driver — $32.70–$37.45/hr

Our company is hiring a local CDL-A driver in Sioux Falls, SD to haul freight between company terminals and customer sites within a set local area. You'll handle pickups and deliveries while keeping freight claims-free and on schedule.

Pay

• $32.70 to $37.45 per hour, depending on experience.

What you'll do

• Operate a tractor trailer to pick up and drop off customer loads.

• Load, unload, sort and handle freight at terminals and customer locations.

• Map out routes and timing to hit pickup and delivery windows.

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip checks, along with freight and billing paperwork.

• Run safety and quality inspections as required.

• Keep accurate records and load documents.

• Act as the main contact when delivery issues come up.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old.

• High school diploma or GED.

• Legally authorized to work in the US.

• Valid Class A CDL with hazmat, tanker and double/triple trailer endorsements.

• Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience driving a tractor trailer.

• No DUI, DWI or license suspension from moving violations in the last 3 years.

• No chargeable accidents or major traffic violations in the last 6 months.

• Able to lift and move up to 100 pounds in and out of trailers.

• Open to a flexible schedule that can include nights, weekends and holidays.

• Comfortable working outdoors in different weather and temperatures.

• Strong enough English skills to talk with coworkers and the public, follow spoken and written directions, understand regulations and road signs, and fill out shipping paperwork accurately.

Preferred

• Forklift and pallet jack experience.

• Solid understanding of DOT rules and safety practices.

• A history of safe driving and on-time deliveries.

• Good communication and customer service with clients and terminal staff.

• Familiarity with electronic logging devices or similar driver tech.
