Entry Level Delivery Driver

Our company is looking for entry-level driver trainees in Omaha, NE to learn the ropes of hauling food and related products on local and overnight runs. You'll go through an 11-week paid training program before moving into a full driving role.

Pay

• $22.00 per hour during the 11-week training program

• $75,000-$100,000 per year once you're fully trained

Routes

• A combination of local and overnight runs

• Driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and/or interstate routes, including local, OTR, shuttle and overnight schedules

What the job involves

• Riding along with a trainer and following their guidance while learning deliveries

• Completing pre- and post-trip inspections on your tractor/truck and trailer, and reporting any safety or repair issues

• Checking that freight is loaded and secured correctly, verifying counts against invoices, and hooking up preloaded trailers

• Delivering orders on schedule, unloading product, checking for damage, and getting customer signatures

• Collecting payment (cash or checks) when required and loading any customer returns

• Keeping your tractor, trailer and freight locked and secured at all times

• Logging your hours of service daily according to DOT, state and company rules

• Keeping your truck and the loading dock area clean, and handling other duties as assigned

• Completing all required paperwork accurately throughout your shift

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)

• For external hires: a valid CDL-A with 0-6 months of experience

• Internal PFG candidates need 1 year of good standing in the Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver program, and must be able to get a CDL permit and DOT health card

• Must be at least 21 years old

• Clean MVR (motor vehicle record) for the past 3 years

• Must pass a post-offer drug test and a road test

• Valid or attainable DOT health card

• Able to lift product by hand and use equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates to move cases typically weighing about 60 to 90 pounds, depending on location

• Must meet any applicable state licensing or certification requirements
