Delivery Truck Driver — Hilton Head, SC

SRS Distribution is hiring a delivery truck driver in Hilton Head, SC to move product safely between branches and customer sites, handling loading, paperwork and vehicle checks along the way.

What you'll do

• Drive company trucks on both short and long routes to deliver product on schedule

• Work with management to plan safe, efficient delivery routes

• Confirm with customers at drop-off that the right product arrived in good shape

• Load and unload the truck as needed, and help out Warehouse Associates

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and keep up truck maintenance logs

• Keep shipping and Hazmat paperwork accurate and on hand

• Flag any vehicle safety concerns to management

• Stay current on DOT, OSHA, and company safety certifications

• Attend after-hours training sessions and work overtime when scheduled

• Expect to travel about 80% of the time between branches and other company locations

Physical demands

You'll be on your feet, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and using your hands throughout the shift, with lifting up to 60 pounds. Temperatures on the job can range from 20 to 105 degrees, and you'll need solid vision for close-up, distance, and color work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least 1 year of experience driving a delivery truck

• At least 1 year of forklift and warehouse experience

• Customer service background preferred, as is comfort with computer and inventory systems

• Minimum age 21

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record per company policy

• Must qualify for and stay insurable under the company's liability insurance

• Must meet all federal and state requirements for operating the vehicle
