About this job
Our company in Muscatine, IA is looking for a Delivery Driver to get products to local customers safely and on time, no CDL needed, and you'll be home every day. You'll also build relationships with customers and support the sales team by passing along leads and market information.
What you'll do
- Get products delivered to local customers and collect proof of delivery
- Load and unload safely and efficiently
- Handle customer questions and keep them updated, aiming for strong service
- Spot and pass along potential new business or competitor info to the sales team
- Run daily pre-trip and safety checks on your vehicle and keep it and the dock area clean
- Follow DOT rules and company safety procedures
- Help cover other routes or shifts when needed, including occasionally filling in on third shift (up to 10 weeks) to cover vacations, and possibly backing up the Transfer Truck Driver role when required
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a clean record
- Able to meet and keep up with DOT qualification standards
- Six months of delivery or courier experience is a plus, not required
- Comfortable using computers; familiarity with Eclipse software or RF scanners is a bonus
- Able to operate a lift truck
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, including some non-standard shifts
The role also involves a mix of physical demands: regular lifting, reaching, and driving, frequent standing, bending, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, plus occasional kneeling, crawling, or working in tight or elevated spaces.
