Delivery Driver — $23.28/hr, Flexible Scheduling

Our company in Dartmouth, NS is looking for a driver to handle pickup and delivery of packages on an assigned route. You'll represent the company directly with customers, so safe driving and a professional, tidy appearance matter.

Pay

• $23.28 per hour

• Flexible scheduling, with a minimum of 4 shifts per month

What you'll do

• Pick up and deliver packages along your route, loading your van and planning stops for efficiency

• Check each shipment against our company's service standards, make sure labels and paperwork are correct, and keep customers stocked with shipping supplies

• Count and inspect packages, and report stop counts and any missorts

• Use the company's tracking and dispatch systems, entering information accurately

• Answer customer questions about our company's services, along with Canadian, US and international shipping requirements

• Spot potential new business from existing customers and pass leads to the sales team

• Keep packages, equipment and vehicles secure at all times

• Depending on location and workload, you may also help load or unload aircraft or containers, and sort and scan packages

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• One year of customer-facing work experience is preferred

• Familiarity with our company operations or Canadian customs rules is a plus

• Able to lift up to 70 lbs on your own and move packages up to 150 lbs with the right equipment

• Must pass the required pre-employment driving assessment

• Strong communication and people skills, good organization and time management, and the ability to stay calm and keep multiple tasks moving in a fast-paced setting

• Drivers must hold a valid license (such as Class 5, G, or 1/AZ) with no more than two violations or accidents in the past 24 months; candidates are assessed on their driving record, interview, and driving test results. Employees based in Quebec must be bilingual in French and English.
