About this job
Our company is hiring a full-time route driver in Dartmouth, NS to deliver gas cylinders safely to customers. You'll handle loading, paperwork and vehicle checks as part of your daily route.
What you'll do
- Load and unload cylinders, then count and log the product types and quantities against shipping documents
- Placard and check your vehicle to meet Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) rules
- Follow safety and operating procedures on every run
- Fill out shipping orders, trip reports, fuel tickets and other required paperwork
- Do pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any issues or needed repairs to your supervisor
- Flag vehicles needing maintenance and help coordinate repairs with minimal downtime
Requirements
- At least 2 years of driving experience with an AZ, DZ, Class 1 or Class 3 license
- Valid provincial driver's license, clean record, with air brake endorsement
- Comfortable handling cylinders of different sizes and weights, including lifting up to 60 pounds
- Familiarity with compressed gases and safe handling practices
- Solid mechanical aptitude
- TDG and WHMIS certification
