About this job
Our company in Red Deer, AB needs Class 1 truck drivers, both company employees and owner-operators with their own trucks, to move freight across Western Canada and BC. Right now most loads are dry and wet sand plus mats, and Super B train experience is a plus but not mandatory since training is available.
Pay
The posting lists $27.00-$35.00 per hour, though wages are also described as based on load percentages.
What you'll haul
Currently mostly sand (both dry and wet) and mats, running throughout Western Canada and British Columbia.
Schedule
You'll work shifts and follow federal hours-of-service rules. Expect to sleep in your truck on the road, since hotel or camp accommodations aren't provided.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 driver's license
- Clean commercial driver's abstract
- H2S, First Aid, CSO, TDG, and WHMIS certifications
- Comfortable operating an 18-speed manual
- Dependable, able to work independently, and professional with customers and coworkers
- Familiarity with ELDs for hours-of-service and inspection reporting
