About this job
Our company is hiring a Class 1 driver for a client based out of Beechville, NS, hauling general freight with a focus on container loads. You'll work Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays on day shift, running local or regional routes in a dedicated automatic truck.
Pay
- Local work pays $27/Hr
- Regional work pays $0.51/mile plus pickup and drop pay
- Equivalent to $5,400.00-$6,480.00 per month
Home time
- You're home every night on most runs, except for Newfoundland trips
- On local routes, drivers often pick up the load the evening before and rest in the sleeper berth, though this isn't required
What you'll haul
- Mainly container freight, with some flatbed and train work from time to time
- Loads move from port to warehouse and from warehouse to customer
- Port certification is required for these deliveries, and the company arranges and covers the cost
Requirements
- At least 3 years of verifiable Class 1 driving experience
- A current clean driving abstract
- A valid Class 1 license
- Must pass a drug and alcohol test
- Able to provide a reference confirming at least 3 years on the job
