About this job
Our company needs a driver in the Sparwood, BC area to run a roll-off truck with a pup trailer and a flatbed rig fitted with a truck-mounted forklift for bin pickups. You'll pick up waste at customer locations and haul it to disposal sites.
What you'll haul
- Roll-off containers using a pup trailer setup
- Bins collected via a flatbed with a mounted forklift
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 license with a reasonably clean abstract covering the last 5 years
- Prior roll-off truck experience is a plus, and knowing how to handle a pup trailer helps even more
- Background running heavy equipment at a mine site is looked on favorably
- Comfort with a manual transmission is a bonus
- Must clear a drug and alcohol screening since this is a safety-sensitive role
What you'll do
- Handle pre- and post-trip inspections, route sheets and daily paperwork
- Flag any mechanical issues or safety hazards right away
- Keep your truck clean and follow all required safety gear rules
- Represent the company professionally with customers and the public
- Help the team find better routing efficiencies
